Speaking & Events

Let's talk about legacy.

What do we leave behind?

Not just the things we own or the documents we sign, but our stories, our voices, our values, our relationships, and the little pieces of ourselves that make us who we are.

As a legacy film specialist, Emmy-winning filmmaker, and end-of-life doula, I speak about what it means to preserve a life, and why we might want to start doing it while we're still here.

I bring together more than 20 years of documentary storytelling with my work in end-of-life care to create conversations that are thoughtful, practical, and sometimes a little uncomfortable in the best possible way.

Topics I love to talk about

A will can tell your family what to do with your stuff. But what tells them who you were?

A conversation about the stories, values, wisdom, and memories we want to pass down — and the ways we can preserve them for the people who come after us.

THE LEGACY WE LEAVE BEHIND

BEYOND THE WILL: A MORE HUMAN KIND OF LEGACY PLANNING

Estate planning is about protecting the future. But what if legacy planning included more than wills, trusts, and financial documents?

A recorded conversation can capture the voice, personality, stories, values, and intentions behind the plans we're making, giving families something no legal document can.

A natural fit for estate planning professionals, financial advisors, family offices, and their clients.

Most of us have things we wish we'd asked our parents or grandparents.

Where did you grow up?
What did your parents teach you?
What do you want your grandchildren to know?

This talk explores the art of asking better questions — and why recording the answers can become one of the most meaningful gifts we leave behind.

STORIES BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE

What makes a good story about a life?

Drawing on more than two decades of documentary filmmaking and interviewing, I'll talk about how to find the stories beneath the stories, and how thoughtful questions can open up conversations we might never otherwise have.

Perfect for community groups, senior communities, schools, cultural organizations, and anyone interested in the art of storytelling.
